Cherokee, NC is a fun and interesting place for a family vacation. You will be on a real Cherokee Indian Reservation where you will see Indian dances and visit with the natives. Take time to visit interesting art galleries, visit the Cherokee Indian Museum, and see the Cherokee drama "Unto These Hills". You can also visit a real Indian village -- Oconaluftee Indian Village. Love to fish? Fishing is allowed in mountain rivers and you can even participate in a trout tournament. There are annual festivals, fairs, special events, and opportunities to view native elk.
During late spring and summer months, enjoy open-air musical performances by the river Friday and Saturday evenings in downtown Cherokee. Performances include rock n’ roll, blues, jazz, gospel and country.
