PICNICKING IN THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS IS
ESPECIALLY FUN FOR FAMILIES


You will find many picnic grounds in the Smoky Mountains. Gatlinburg has 3 beautiful parks with picnic areas.

Mynatt Park is located on Historic Nature Trail, just a few blocks from the Parkway and W. L. Mills Auditorium. The park has a playground area for children, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, a basketball court, a baseball field, and a pavilion for family gatherings. There are also individual picnic tables with BBQ grills on the river, a children's fishing stream, and restrooms.

Mills Park in Gatlinburg is located off Hwy 321. The park has a 9-hole disc golf course, 400-meter track, football field, softball field, and basketball court. There are also horseshoe pits, jogging trail, playground, picnic tables, covered pavilion, sinks and grills, and restrooms.

Herbert Holt Park is just off the Parkway in Gatlinburg. It has a covered pavilion, picnic tables, children's fishing stream, handicap accessible fishing pier, and a trout rearing facility. There are picnic tables, sinks and grills, playground area, horseshoe pits, and walking trails.

A number of picnic grounds inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park have pavilions, picnic tables, BBQ grills, and restrooms. Picnic grounds are located at Chimneys, Cades Cove, Cosby, Greenbrier, Look Rock, Metcalf Bottoms, and Twin Creeks. Picnic pavilions are available at Cosby, Deep Creek, Greenbrier, Metcalf Bottoms, and Twin Creeks. Pavilions can be reserved for groups one year in advance by calling (877) 444-6777.
